Quotation, installation and customer-supplied product conditions.
These website conditions explain Harbourlight’s current operating principles. The project-specific quotation and any accepted variations govern the actual scope, price and timing.
1. Enquiries and assessments
An online enquiry does not create a confirmed booking, final quotation or obligation to proceed. Suitability, availability, access, product specifications and pricing must be confirmed in writing.
2. Supply-and-install quotations
An initial measure and quotation is generally available without charge for suitable supply-and-install work within the core service area. Distant, complex or non-standard assessments may require an agreed fee. A quotation is based on the information, access and site conditions disclosed at the time and remains subject to its stated validity period.
3. Deposits and payment
The deposit required for made-to-measure products will be stated in the quotation and must be received in cleared funds before an order is placed. The remaining balance is payable at the time stated in the quotation, generally before or on the installation date. Payment may be accepted by bank transfer, card or approved payment link.
4. Custom-made products and change of mind
Products manufactured or cut to the customer’s confirmed measurements and specifications generally cannot be cancelled or refunded merely because the customer changes their mind. Any cancellation or variation is subject to supplier commitments, work already performed and reasonable costs incurred. This does not limit rights relating to faulty goods, service failures or other rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Installation-only and rectification attendance
Installation-only and rectification work is priced after reviewing product condition, access, site readiness and scope. Harbourlight may quote an hourly rate, fixed price or other agreed basis before attendance. Parking costs above $20 may be passed through at cost with supporting evidence. Travel outside the core area and any necessary accommodation are quoted according to time, distance and scope.
6. Customer-supplied products
The customer is responsible for product selection, dimensions, completeness, condition, manufacturer instructions and the original product warranty. Harbourlight may decline an unsuitable, incomplete, damaged, incorrectly measured or unsafe product. Harbourlight remains responsible for the installation services it performs with due care and skill and for any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Site readiness and return attendance
The customer must provide safe, clear and timely access, disclose building restrictions, arrange required lift or loading bookings, remove obstructions and ensure the site and supplied components are ready. An additional attendance charge may apply where a return visit is caused by missing parts, unsuitable products, incorrect information, denied access or site-readiness issues. Harbourlight may waive or adjust this charge where commercially reasonable.
8. Access, heights and electrical work
Harbourlight may decline work involving unsafe access, unsuitable mounting surfaces, excessive height, unmanageable product weight or other risks. No unlicensed electrical work will be undertaken. Hard-wired motorised systems require a licensed electrician; the allocation and cost of that work will be separately stated.
9. Product and workmanship issues
Harbourlight will assess a reported issue to determine whether it relates to installation workmanship, a supplied product, customer-supplied goods, misuse, damage or site conditions. Where Harbourlight sold the product, Harbourlight will assist with the applicable supplier process and meet its own obligations as seller. Manufacturer or express warranty terms are additional to—not a substitute for—consumer guarantees.
10. Timing and delays
Manufacturing and installation dates are estimates until confirmed. Supplier delays, stock availability, access, weather, illness, building restrictions and other matters outside reasonable control may affect timing. Harbourlight will communicate material changes and reschedule reasonably.
11. Damage and pre-existing conditions
Existing damage, weak surfaces, hidden services, unsuitable prior work and product defects should be disclosed. Harbourlight will take reasonable care but is not responsible for defects or damage caused by undisclosed conditions outside its reasonable control, subject always to non-excludable legal rights.
12. Priority of documents
If these website conditions conflict with a signed or accepted quotation, approved variation or mandatory law, the project-specific document and mandatory law prevail to the extent of the conflict.
